Current and first hand South Pacific data has been collected over the past 10 years and is available to all registered participants
Captain Dietmar, founder of the Posse Rallies, recently explored and sailed on his catamaran to these the islands for 7 1/2 years. Currently, 20 vessels are scouting the 21' South Pacific Posse trial run and mapping out hundreds of anchorages, approaches, way-points and data to assist all captains and crew ready to make the jump across the Pacific. Vessels departing from California, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Chile and Ecuador will have up to date information to navigate some of the best cruising in the world with over 10,000 islands.
Over 1000 yachts have participated in the Panama Posse
Since 2017 over 425 yachts have participated in the Panama Posse, the sister rally, and the number of vessels continues to grow each year.
Unique to the Posse rallies is that there is no set schedule, it is not a race and each skipper makes their own decisions based on the data provided.
One of the biggest assets of the Posse is the camaraderie and "esprit de corps" the Rally creates amongst vessel from over 20 countries.
The South Pacific Posse provides all participants tools to communicate 24/7, tracking and a framework of how to exchange information in a peer-to-peer group.

SEARCH AND RESCUE
Maritime search and rescue is carried out at sea to save sailors and passengers in distress, or the survivors of downed aircraft. The type of agency which carries out maritime search and rescue varies by country; it may variously be the coast guard, navy or voluntary organizations. When a distressed or missing vessel is located, these organizations deploy helicopters, rescue vessels or any other appropriate vessel to return them to land. In some cases, the agencies may carry out an air-sea rescue (ASR). This refers to the combined use of aircraft (such as flying boats, floatplanes, amphibious helicopters and non-amphibious helicopters equipped with hoists) and surface vessels.
