I don’t have the energy to share right now. We spent all day at yesterday reliving the event with the police. Nothing in our world is settled right now. We are glad to be alive but everything else is a mess.
We have provided the coordinates of the incident and that they took everything at gun point. We didn’t see the boat because it was pitch dark. 3 black males that we didn’t see.
Not sure what more info could be publicly shared? We will not share an incident report for our own privacy or what we have left of it.
So I would share that passwords and phone numbers should be someplace other than only on your devises. We don’t believe that we could have done anything different besides not be there alone.

Here in Panama there are a lot of vessels prepping for the voyage to the Marquesas and luckily one of the vessels is skippered by a doctor who speaks on all sorts of medical topics on the local morning net at Vista Mar Marina.
Back in 2019 he shared with us details about Antibiotics which he keeps on board and when he would use them.
Keflex/Cephalexin
Boat stores:40 tablets 500 mg
Reason: Infections of the skin and periphery-infected cuts, stabs, thorns, legs and arms.
Dosing: 1 pill every 6 hours till redness gone plus one day then stop. Also let’s say a penetrating wound or open wound.
This is the antibiotic to use for prophylaxis.
Levofloxacin
Boat stores:250mg. 20 tabs 2nd line but powerful.
Reason: can be associated with tendon tears, peripheral nerve and central nerve issues later on.
Pneumonia, severe uti, urogenital infection, kidneys, anthrax, plague, severe stomach infections, chronic bronchitis
Dosing: for pneumonia or severe infection:750mg once a day. For Uro 250mg once a day for 3 days. GI issue: 500mg x 3-5 days.
Azithromycin
Boat stores: 250mg 20 tabs
Reason: Acute sinusitis, pneumonia, respiratory infections but also gonorrhea, chlamydia Lyme disease
Dosing: Always taken same way: 500mg first day, then 250 each day after. Usually for 5 days
Treats: Pneumonia, strep throat, some skin infections
Dosing: Adults 250-500mg every 6 hrs for 5 days
Kids age 6-teens 250mg every 6 hrs for 5 days
Kids 2-6 125mg every 6 hrs for 5 days
Doxycycline
Boat stores: 100mg 40 tabs
Treatment: Pneumonia, respiratory and tick borne diseases
Dosing:1 pill q12 hours 10-14 days and malaria prophylaxis one pill once a day start one day prior to entering endemic areas and continue for 4 full weeks afterwards
Treats: Sore throats, strep, sinusitis and pneumonia
Dosing: 500mg every 12 or 250mg every 8 hrs
Acute Appendicitis.
Combine the Metronidazole and Levoflaxacin for 10 days using the standard dosing regime of each respective medic

Designed to give interesting parties an overview. For specific vessel details including their floatplan, latest updates, changes, positions and specific location related questions please contact each vessel directly. If you are on passage let us know and the fleet can monitor your progress.
Valid Passports – with at least 360 days left on the expiration date
Vessel Documentation – matching the passports or if your vessel is registered as a corporation a certified letter of ownership / authorization to operate the vessel
Vessel Operator Certificate of Competence – to operate the vessel – this is a formality but some countries authorities want to make sure that you have what it takes – you can get them from most states including this free one – testing is done online, or your ASA, US Sailing, RYA or equivalent
Third Party Liability Insurance for Marinas – if you plan to stay at marinas you will need 3rd party liability insurance
Prescriptions – if you have prescription drugs on board please be sure to have your valid prescriptions to match from your doctor
Pet Vaccination Records – all the docs you can muster plus more – vaccination certificates – 15 digit international chips under their skin – rabies vaccination certificate . etc etc.

13) KASTOMS VANUATU
Mount Yasur is a volcano on Tanna Island, Vanuatu, 1,184 ft high above sea level. It has been erupting nearly continuously for several hundred years, although it can usually be approached safely. Its eruptions, which often occur several times an hour.
The glow of the volcano was apparently what attracted Captain James Cook on the first European journey to the island in 1774. Today, the mountain is a sacred area for the John Frum cargo cult. Members of the cult revere John Frum, a deified messenger who foretold the bringing of wealth to the island by American forces, and believe he resides in Mount Yasur with his countrymen.
Kastom is a pidgin word (Bislama/English) used to refer to traditional culture, including religion, economics, art and magic in Melanesia.
The word derives from the Australian English pronunciation of custom. Kastom is mostly not written only passed down through teachings and stories. It is concentrated through:
• Kastom House – sites where objects and rituals are stored.
• Kastom stories – myths, legends and communal histories.
• Kastom tabu – objects of special power, significance and symbolism.
There are designated Kastom villages in Vanuatu which are open to tourists, dedicated to preserving Kastom.
